Job summary

Dreamcast Interactive, a Dubai-headquartered studio, seeks an API Developer for a 12-month contract, on-site in Dubai. You will own endpoints from design to production, including code, tests, docs and monitoring, collaborating with frontend and product teams. Strong REST API background and 2–3 years in backend development are required.

English communication essential. You will work with Node.js, Java Spring Boot, Python or .NET, and backend databases.

Qualifications

2–3 years in API or backend development.
Strong knowledge of REST APIs and web services.
Experience with one or more of Node.js, Java Spring Boot, Python or .NET.
JSON and XML; API testing and documentation tools such as Postman or Swagger.
Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
OAuth, JWT and API security practices.
Git and everyday version-control habits.
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Clear communication and teamwork in English.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
Integrate third-party APIs and external systems.
Work with frontend developers and stakeholders to turn requirements into endpoints.
Write clean, scalable code following team standards.
Troubleshoot API performance and integration issues.
Build security, authentication and data-protection standards into code.
Create and maintain API documentation and integrations.
Participate in code reviews and system improvements.
Monitor performance and optimise APIs for speed and scale.
