Job summary

Brainstorm Human Resources Consultants seeks an experienced MEP Director – Mechanical to lead the mechanical MEP function across large-scale construction projects in Dubai. The role demands proven leadership and extensive UAE/Dubai experience with projects valued at AED 250 million or above.

You will oversee HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems, aligning design, procurement, and execution with schedules, budgets, and stringent quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 18–25+ years of overall MEP/mechanical construction experience.
• Strong UAE/Dubai construction experience.
• Proven experience in MEP contracting or a main contractor environment.
• Demonstrated management of projects valued at AED 250 million or above.
• Strong mechanical MEP expertise, particularly HVAC systems.
• Experience managing senior MEP teams and multiple disciplines.
• Strong client and consultant management experience at senior level.
• Good understanding of commercial management, planning, procurement, and project execution.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with major commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, infrastructure, or other large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical MEP project delivery from pre-construction through completion and handover.
• Manage large-scale MEP projects valued at AED 250 million or above.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership across HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Review project scope, specifications, drawings, design requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Ensure delivery according to approved schedules, budgets, quality, and HSE requirements.
• Lead project planning, resource allocation, manpower planning, and productivity improvement.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee design coordination, shop drawings, material approvals, technical submissions, and RFIs.
• Monitor commercial performance, variations, claims, procurement, and cost control.
• Ensure timely procurement of mechanical equipment and materials.
• Resolve technical, commercial, and execution issues at senior management level.
• Monitor milestones and implement recovery plans where necessary.
• Lead multiple project teams, senior MEP managers, and engineering personnel.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, authority requirements, international standards, and project specifications.
• Drive quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
• Prepare project performance reports for senior management.
• Mentor and develop the mechanical and MEP management team.
