Job summary

India Abroad in Dubai is seeking a Librarian to manage our library collection, assist patrons with research, and promote library resources and services.

The role requires a Library Science degree, strong organizational and communication skills, and fluency in English. You will handle cataloging, circulation, training staff, and collaborate across departments to serve the community. This is a contract position with accommodation provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Prior library experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with library databases and research tools.
• Knowledge of current trends in librarianship.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Biometric passport is required.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library's collection, including cataloging and processing new materials.
• Assist patrons with research inquiries and guide use of resources.
• Promote resources and services via social media, events and marketing.
• Oversee circulation, check-in/check-out, fines, and records.
• Train and supervise library assistants and volunteers.
• Collaborate with departments to develop programs for the community.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technology to enhance services.
