Job summary

Workato in Dubai is seeking a Librarian to organize, catalog and manage library resources and assist patrons with research. The role focuses on greeting patrons, processing materials, and providing access to databases.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Library Science (Master’s preferred), demonstrates strong Microsoft Office skills, and has excellent organizational and communication abilities. Salary is 1,200 AED per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in a library setting preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required; knowledge of specialized software programs used in libraries is preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons and provide them with assistance in locating materials.
• Process new materials, including books, periodicals and digital media.
• Assist patrons with their research needs by providing access to online databases and other electronic resources.
• Monitor library circulation activities and maintain circulation records in accordance with library policies.
• Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Train staff on the use of library systems and services.
• Oversee the maintenance of library equipment such as computers, printers, scanners etc.
