Job summary

Work corp in Dubai is seeking a librarian to join our team. The role involves managing the library’s collections, cataloging, shelving, assisting patrons, and maintaining databases, with supervision of student helpers. A passion for books and strong customer service are essential.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science (or related field) and have at least two years of professional experience. Foreign applicants are welcome to apply; salary is 1800 AED per month.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the library including cataloging books, checking in/out library materials, shelving books and other media as needed
• Maintain an organized filing system of all library records
• Supervise student helpers when necessary
• Assist patrons with locating materials they need
• Provide reference services as requested
• Create teaching aids for educational programs
• Develop displays to promote new acquisitions or special collections
• Update computers with new software programs or upgrades as needed
