Job summary

Vitol is seeking a full stack developer in Dubai to join the CTRM & Operations Desk Developer team. You will work with physical operations and trading desks to build and deploy full-stack applications and automation tooling that drive operational decisions.

The role emphasizes rapid prototyping, project management, and platform integration, with exposure to Python, C#, React, and GenAI tools within a fast-paced commodities environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full stack Python + ideally also .NET C# (backend) development experience with in-depth knowledge of ORM and API frameworks
• 3+ years of full stack TypeScript React development experience
• Proven experience using advanced agentic workflow tools within a software development lifecycle (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode)
• Proven experience using Python libraries such as FastAPI, SQLAlchemy and Pydantic is mandatory
• Experience using C# Entity Framework preferred
• Experience using agentic workflow tools preferred (Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Work, OpenWork, n8n, CrewAI)
• Experience in building, maintaining and optimizing relational SQL databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle)
• Passion for developing in Python, C# and React and a driven desire to engage with both our development community and the business
• Drive to stay up to date with changes in the Python, C# and TypeScript React landscape
• Experience within the Commodity Trading sector preferred

Responsibilities

• Rapid prototyping with operations and commercial teams to build market-focused apps.
• Analyse requirements and manage projects end-to-end.
• Suggest innovative and reliable technical solutions for the business.
• Develop deep understanding of Vitol's MIS platforms and tools.
• Support existing tools and iterate on user feedback to create value.
• Collaborate across teams to empower the physical operations desk.
