Job summary

RecruitMe Plus in Dubai seeks an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee the accounting function, lead a team, ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with UAE tax requirements. Reports to the Finance Manager and supports management with financial analysis.

Responsibilities include leading the accounting team, overseeing GL, month-end close, reviewing financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and coordinating audits.

Qualifications

• 10 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Demonstrated experience leading an accounting team and an end-to-end accounting function.
• Strong financial reporting reconciliation budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax accounting principles and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software; Oracle experience is an advantage.
• ACCA or CA qualification preferred.
• Strong leadership communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team ensuring effective task allocation, review and timely delivery.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger activities, reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support management decisions.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and applicable accounting standards.
• Maintain financial controls, accounting policies and accurate financial records.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and address related documentation and reporting requirements.
• Use Oracle and Microsoft Excel to support financial reporting and accounting processes.
