KN International is seeking a Dry Utilities Engineer to support execution, supervision, testing and commissioning, quality control, and coordination of electrical works for infrastructure projects in Barary, Al Ain.

The role requires extensive electrical engineering expertise, strong problem-solving, and client communication skills to ensure HV, MV, LV & ELV systems are installed, tested, and handed over per drawings and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8–10 years' electrical engineering experience on infrastructure projects with HV/MV/LV/ELV systems.
  • Strong testing and commissioning experience for electrical systems.
  • Experience with FAT testing and related activities.
  • Good written and oral communication; technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex field engineering assignments for technical aspects of construction projects.
  • Maintains QA to ensure installations meet plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Supervises construction engineering work and provides technical expertise.
  • Ensures tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented per procedures.
  • Coordinates testing and commissioning of HV/MV/LV/ELV systems per project requirements.
  • Reviews testing procedures and reports for proper execution and compliance.
  • Ensures safe work practices and environmental safety on site.
  • Interacts with discipline design staff and manages documentation for turnover.
  • Develops discipline construction schedules and progress reports.
  • Monitors material procurement and delivery for construction activity.

DRY UTILITIES ENGINEER

Location: Barary, Al Ain


Job Summary

KN International is seeking a Dry Utilities Engineer who will support the client in the execution, supervision, testing and commissioning, quality control, and coordination of electrical works for infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive electrical engineering and testing and commissioning experience, with strong technical expertise, problem-solving, and client communication skills. The role involves ensuring that electrical HV, MV, LV & ELV systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and handed over in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, industry standards, and project requirements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Performs difficult and complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, testing and commissioning, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.

  • Maintains first level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.

  • May supervise the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines.

  • Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Coordinates and supports testing and commissioning activities for electrical HV, MV, LV & ELV systems, ensuring compliance with approved procedures, specifications, and project requirements.

  • Reviews testing and commissioning procedures, test reports, and related documentation to ensure proper execution and compliance with project requirements.

  • Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.

  • Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site specific safety procedures and industry standards.

  • Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff.

  • Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.

  • Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions.

  • Develops discipline construction schedules and monitors progress.

  • Provides schedule and progress appraisal report to the Construction Manager.

  • Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.

  • Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.

  • Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report, including testing and commissioning documentation.

  • Initiates and maintains records, back-charge procedures, progress reports, testing and commissioning records, etc., as required.

  • May have some interface with the client and upper-level management.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


Required Qualifications & Skills


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in electrical engineering on infrastructure projects involving design and construction of infrastructure electrical HV, MV, LV & ELV systems.

  • Strong experience in testing and commissioning of electrical HV, MV, LV & ELV systems.

  • Experience in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and other testing and commissioning activities of these systems.

  • Good written and oral communication.

  • Proven ability to perform key technical role.

  • Thorough knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures and industry practices.

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

  • Knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project.
