Job summary

DSV Global transport and logistics in Abu Dhabi seeks a Heavy Duty Driver to join our logistics team. You will operate heavy vehicles, ensure safety, manage route plans, and report incidents and damages.

Role requires 1.5–2 years UAE heavy-vehicle experience, a valid UAE license, and solid knowledge of UAE traffic rules. Opportunities exist within a global logistics leader.

Qualifications

• Matriculation or equivalent.
• 1.5–2 years of UAE heavy-vehicle driving experience.
• Valid UAE driving license.
• Knowledge of UAE traffic rules and safety.
• Good eyesight day and night.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring vehicle is maintained properly and reporting issues to supervisor.
• Prioritizing deliveries and suggesting improvements to daily routes.
• Reporting damages/excess or shortages during delivery.
• Handling customer complaints professionally and raising non-conformances when needed.
• Completing trip sheets and handing them to the supervisor at shift end.
• Submitting delivery notes within 24 hours of delivery.
• Complying with HSE requirements.
• Supervising distribution assistants and reporting misconduct.
• Observing traffic regulations to avoid penalties.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Job responsibilities:

• Ensuring vehicle is maintained properly and complaints if any are reported immediately to the supervisor and the workshop team.
• Prioritizing deliveries and suggesting improvements to the daily route plans.
• Reporting damages excess / shortages if any during delivery.
• Handling customer complaints in a pleasant and non-confrontational manner and in the agreed method and raise non-conformances where necessary.
• Completing the trip sheets with all relevant information and handing it over to the supervisor towards the end of every shift.
• Submitting delivery notes to OCC within 24 hours on delivery.
• Complying with the HSE requirements.
• Supervising the distribution assistants and reporting any misconduct to the supervisor immediately.
• Ensuring that the traffic regulations are strictly always observed while driving on the road and all penalties and fines on account of violation are avoided.
• Performing any other related duties / projects assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet the business exigencies.
