Job summary

A leading environmental consultancy in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Document Controller to support projects by managing all technical and compliance documentation. The ideal candidate has a diploma in Environmental Science and 3-5 years of experience in document control. Key responsibilities include maintaining the document control system, ensuring document accuracy, and supporting cross-functional teams. Salary range is AED 8,000 - AED 12,000.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a result-driven and experienced Document Controller to join our team.

The Document Controller will play a key role in supporting environmental and nature-technology projects by ensuring that all technical, compliance, and research documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible. This role contributes directly to the success of projects by enabling teams to track progress, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary projects. The role also entails the organisation and management of internal documentation processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the document control system for project, R&D, and compliance documentation
  • Track environmental permits, regulatory submissions, field data, laboratory reports, and stakeholder correspondence
  • Organise and archive ecological survey results, biodiversity datasets, GIS files, and environmental monitoring reports
  • Ensure version control of research papers, engineering drawings, SOPs, and project plans
  • Coordinate document reviews, approvals, and sign-offs across internal and external stakeholders
  • Support scientists, engineers, and field teams by retrieving required documents quickly
  • Maintain confidentiality and access controls for sensitive ecological or proprietary datasets
  • Prepare periodic document status reports for management and regulatory audits
  • Assist with the implementation and training of digital document management systems (SharePoint, Aconex, Procore, or other EDMS platforms)
  • Ensure all records comply with regulatory standards and environmental data retention policies

  • Exposure to scientific or technical terminology (e.g., ecology, carbon, hydrology, biodiversity, GIS)
