The role oversees architectural, structural, MEP, façade, and specialist systems from concept through construction, ensuring integration, buildability, and regulatory compliance with premium project standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 15+ years in technical design management or architectural leadership within high-end real estate developments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering ultra-luxury residential projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

We are seeking an accomplished Director - Design Technical to lead the technical design management and coordination of Amali’s ultra-luxury residential developments. This role will be responsible for overseeing the technical design process from concept validation through detailed design and construction, ensuring that all architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist systems are fully integrated, buildable, compliant, and aligned with the project vision.

The Director - Design Technical will provide strategic leadership across multidisciplinary consultant teams, drive technical excellence, oversee design quality assurance, mitigate technical risks, and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with regulatory requirements, project schedules, budget objectives, and the highest standards of luxury development.

About the role

• Lead and oversee the technical design management process across multiple ultra-luxury residential developments from concept through project completion.
• Review, challenge, and validate technical design submissions to ensure coordination, constructability, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project objectives.
• Manage and coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, façade, landscape, and specialist consultants to ensure seamless integration of all design disciplines.
• Drive technical design excellence by implementing robust review processes, quality assurance standards, and value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all local authority requirements, building regulations, codes, and approval processes.
• Lead technical design workshops and coordination meetings, proactively resolving design conflicts, interface issues, and technical challenges.
• Collaborate closely with development, project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure design intent is accurately executed on-site.
• Provide technical guidance on materials, systems, construction methodologies, and innovative solutions suitable for ultra-luxury developments.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the design lifecycle, ensuring timely decision-making and issue resolution.
• Monitor consultant performance, design deliverables, budgets, and project milestones to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Support the evaluation and selection of consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers from a technical and quality perspective.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies, industry best practices, sustainability trends, and luxury development innovations to continuously elevate project standards.

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in technical design management, project delivery, or architectural leadership within high-end real estate developments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering ultra-luxury residential projects, mansions, branded residences, luxury resorts, or royal palace developments.
• Strong expertise in multidisciplinary design coordination, technical reviews, design integration, and construction detailing.
• Comprehensive understanding of architectural, structural, MEP, façade, and landscape systems in complex developments.
• Extensive knowledge of UAE building regulations, authority approval processes, and industry standards.
• Proven ability to lead and manage international design consultants, multidisciplinary teams, and key project stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience balancing technical excellence, project budgets, and delivery schedules.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to identify technical risks, drive problem-solving initiatives, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced development environment.
