Summary
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and evaluate the company’s Business Control Service activities. Overseeing the activities of Planning, Cost Control, Productivity, and Contracts.
Responsibilities and Authorities
Planning
- Review of tender documents and preparation of tender programmes
- Oversee the development of project baselines/planning packages
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports
- Manage subcontractors
- Handle delays management
- Manage claims/disputes
- Prepare project productivity reports
- Revise project baseline plans and histograms
- Ensure proper tracking and updates
- Maintain project measurement tools like S-curves, tabular reports, histograms, and other KPIs
- Analyse schedule trends, determine risks, and develop corrective actions
- Provide early warnings for potential progress issues
Cost Control
- Prepare and monitor target budgets
- Approve resources/materials
- Monitor project costs
- Report and analyse cost variances
- Revise target budgets as needed
- Report cost to completion and cost at completion
- Prepare and submit monthly cost reports
- Coordinate with projects, contracts, planning, procurement, and finance teams
- Manage company resources productivity
Contracts
- Manage main contracts
- Manage subcontracts
- Manage change orders
- Handle claims/disputes
- Ensure all company contracting practices comply with applicable regulations
General
- Provide coordination/support with other departments
- Attend meetings as required
- Manage and follow up with department teams
- Provide internal/external training as required
- Comply with audit requirements
- Identify risks and mitigation measures
- Evaluate department staff
- Participate in evaluation of any new software/system
Skills
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with 20–25 years of experience in a reputed firm
- Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills
