Job summary

First Orion Corp is seeking a Platform Engineer to build, operate, and evolve the infrastructure powering our product suite across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem deployments. You will own the deployment pipeline and ensure reliability and cloud-agnostic operations.

You will collaborate with engineers across regions, working in a distributed environment to deliver scalable, reproducible platform solutions while driving automation and improving developer experience.

Qualifications

• - 5+ years in DevOps/Platform/SRE or related roles.
• - Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD.
• - Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting.
• - Strong Linux and containerized apps knowledge.
• - Experience with monitoring/observability tools.
• - Excellent collaboration and communication in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

About the role

We're looking for a Platform Engineer to help build, operate , and evolve the infrastructure that powers our products across multiple deployment environments. This role will own the deployment pipeline and platform infrastructure for our cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployments, ensuring our platform remains reliable, scalable, reproducible, and cloud-agnostic.

What you’ll do

• - Own and maintain deployment pipelines across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises customer environments
• - Design and manage containerized infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• - Build, improve, and support CI/CD workflows using Gradle and Bitbucket Pipelines
• - Ensure platform deployments are reproducible, consistent, and cloud-agnostic
• - Monitor platform health, performance, and reliability using Prometheus and Grafana
• - Manage secrets and secure platform access using Vault
• - Troubleshoot production issues and support deployment activities across environments
• - Partner closely with software engineers to improve deployment processes, platform reliability, and developer experience
• - Drive automation efforts to reduce operational overhead and increase deployment consistency
• - Contribute to platform architecture decisions and infrastructure best practices

What you’ll need

• - 5 + years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles
• - Hands-on experience with:
  • - Docker
  • - Kubernetes
  • - Helm
  • - CI/CD pipelines
• - Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting infrastructure issues
• - Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and containerized applications
• - Experience working with monitoring and observability tools
• - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a distributed environment
• - Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Nice to have

• - Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid/on-premises deployment models
• - Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
• - Experience operating and supporting PostgreSQL and Kafka environments
• - Experience designing highly available , scalable platform architectures
• - Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

While the position primarily follows local business hours in the employee's country of employment, occasional flexibility may be required to support planned maintenance activities, project implementations, and service escalations across time zones.

This position may be based in either the United Kingdom or Dubai, UAE.

• - For UK-based employees, the salary range for this position is £30,800 - £54,100, depending on experience
• - Compensation for UAE-based employees will be discussed during the recruitment process and will depend on experience
