Job summary

Decision Management Consultants is recruiting a Development Support Lead – TEKLA in Dubai to lead Tekla structures development and support within a major oil and gas client. The role focuses on standards, tooling, and automation across BIM workflows.

You will lead Tekla/Open API projects, drive integration with ERP and CNC systems, and mentor teams in advanced Tekla and steel detailing practices. Dubai-based, UAE labor law benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
• 8+ years in Tekla Structures development and structural steel.
• Proven leadership of Tekla support and development teams.
• Expertise with Tekla Open API (C#) and custom plugin development.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows, model coordination, and multi-discipline integration.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce Tekla technical standards, development protocols, and QA/QC procedures for all Tekla-related deliverables.
• Serve as the key technical liaison between the technical office, engineering, fabrication, and construction teams.
• Participate in strategic planning to improve BIM and Tekla integration across the organization.
• Lead and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of custom Tekla tools, plugins, components, and automated workflows using Tekla Open API (C#).
• Guide the implementation of parametric components, custom templates, intelligent drawings, and automated reporting features.
• Oversee the integration of Tekla with ERP, MIS, CNC fabrication systems, and other digital platforms.
• Organize and conduct internal training sessions and workshops on advanced Tekla and steel detailing workflows.

Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Tekla Structures development and structural steel engineering
• Proven track record of leading Tekla support and development teams in a structural steel environment
• Expertise in Tekla Open API (C#) and custom plugin development
• Extensive knowledge of steel fabrication practices, international detailing codes, and structural design standards
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows, model coordination, clash detection, and multi-discipline integration
• Familiarity with platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, Trimble Connect, and SQL databases is an advantage
