Job summary

Aldar Education is seeking a qualified Design Technology Teacher to join its growing network of schools in Abu Dhabi for the 2026/27 academic year. The role focuses on delivering creative design with technical understanding, differentiating instruction and safeguarding students.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Design Technology and a PGCE, plus at least two years in an international setting, to support diverse learners and participate in school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design Technology or a closely related subject.
• PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar teaching role.
• International-school teaching experience is required.
• Experience supporting students who speak English as an additional language.
• Strong understanding of curriculum planning and differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons.
• Implement the relevant curriculum according to defined learning outcomes.
• Use appropriate syllabuses, teaching materials and schemes of work.
• Develop students' creativity, technical understanding and design skills.
• Encourage critical thinking and practical problem-solving.
• Plan effective long-term, medium-term and short-term learning sequences.
• Identify clear teaching objectives for individual lessons and curriculum units.
• Ensure students achieve expected learning outcomes.
• Deliver face-to-face, hybrid and distance-learning lessons when necessary.
• Use appropriate digital tools to support modern teaching and learning.
