DAMAC Digital is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design and delivery of hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects from concept through commissioning and handover, ensuring alignment with objectives, standards, and client requirements.

The role demands 15+ years in electrical design and project delivery, with expertise in HV/MV/LV, UPS and generators, grounding, protection, and mission-critical power.

Responsabilidades

• Lead electrical design and technical delivery of hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects.
• Develop electrical design strategies, engineering execution plans, and technical roadmaps aligned with objectives.
• Coordinate MV/HV/LV, UPS, standby power generation, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Lead the design of mission-critical electrical systems to achieve high availability and resilience.
• Review and approve electrical deliverables at all project stages (concept to as-built).
• Ensure compliance with Employer's Requirements and international codes and standards.
• Coordinate interfaces with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, ICT, ELV, security, and vendors.
• Monitor consultant performance, deliverables, schedules, and milestones.
• Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards and best practices across projects.
• Conduct technical reviews, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Support value engineering while maintaining reliability and performance.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation measures.

The SME – Electrical is responsible for leading the electrical engineering design, technical coordination, and delivery of hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects from concept through commissioning and handover. The role provides technical leadership for all electrical systems, ensuring that design solutions meet project objectives, company standards, client requirements, operational reliability, energy efficiency, and applicable international codes and regulations.

Will oversees the performance of internal electrical engineering teams, external consultants, specialist vendors, and contractors to ensure integrated, innovative, and high-quality electrical engineering solutions. The position plays a critical role in delivering resilient mission-critical electrical infrastructure, optimizing design efficiency, supporting value engineering initiatives, and ensuring constructability throughout the project lifecycle.

Job role functions:

• Lead the electrical engineering design and technical delivery of hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects.
• Develop electrical design strategies, engineering execution plans, and technical roadmaps aligned with business and project objectives.
• Manage the design and coordination of medium-voltage (MV), high-voltage (HV), low-voltage (LV), UPS, standby power generation, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, small power, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Lead the design of mission-critical electrical systems to achieve high availability, redundancy, reliability, and operational resilience.
• Review and approve electrical engineering deliverables at all project stages, including concept, schematic, detailed design, IFC, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Employer's Requirements, company engineering standards, project specifications, and applicable international codes and industry best practices.
• Coordinate electrical engineering interfaces with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, ICT, ELV, security, and specialist systems.
• Monitor consultant performance, engineering deliverables, design schedules, and project milestones.
• Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards, specifications, design guidelines, and best practices across all projects.
• Conduct technical reviews, design audits, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining system reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
• Identify technical risks, design conflicts, and engineering issues, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support procurement activities by reviewing technical submissions, equipment specifications, vendor offers, and shop drawings.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and project handover.
• Coordinate with project management, procurement, construction, operations, commissioning teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Act as the primary electrical engineering technical authority for internal and external stakeholders.
• Present engineering solutions, project progress, and technical recommendations to senior management and executive leadership.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and quality control procedures for all electrical engineering deliverables.
• Promote innovation, sustainability, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement across electrical engineering designs.
• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop electrical engineering teams to build technical capability and succession.
• Support recruitment, performance management, knowledge sharing, and professional development initiatives within the electrical engineering function.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Project Management is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering design and project delivery.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience leading electrical engineering teams for hyperscale, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience delivering complex data centre developments from concept through commissioning.
• Extensive knowledge of HV, MV, LV distribution systems, UPS systems, standby generators, busway systems, electrical protection, grounding, lightning protection, and mission-critical power infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating with international consultants, utility providers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and specialist vendors.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering coordination, procurement support, construction administration, commissioning, and integrated systems testing.
• Thorough knowledge of international codes and standards, including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS, and local authority requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
