JOB SUMMARY (Major functions of the position)

• Must be able to design and analyze Steel Structure elements of buildings and other steel structures.
• Must be able to develop detailed design calculations for the steel structures , all steel to steel and steel to concrete connections and get approval from contractor, client and consultants.
• Must be able to review shop drawings prepared in Tekla and Autocad and manage the modelling and detailing team.
• Must be able to do connection design of complex steel structures for buildings, warehouses, industrial projects using connection software such as idea statica or RAM/LIMCON or be able to generate own excel spreadhseets for connection design.
• Can do quantity take off for steel structures from the Tender/IFC drawings provided.
• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for construction projects.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to develop structural designs.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures and identify potential issues.
• Perform calculations and simulations to determine the strength and stability of structures.
• Review and approve design changes and modifications based on project requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters.
• Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to structural design.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
• Communicate and present design concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Must be well versed in STADD PRO/ETABS software for Steel structure Design.
• Must be familiar with American and British Steel Design Codes.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in structural design engineering.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SAP
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and Masters Degree in Structural Engineering

• 3 years of design experience
• Knowledge in fabrication and erection activities
