Job summary

DAMAC Digital is seeking a Director – Electrical to provide strategic and technical leadership for the planning, design, and delivery of Electrical and ELV systems across its data center portfolio. The role ensures reliability, resilience, energy efficiency, and alignment with standards and project requirements, from concept through handover.

The Director will oversee the Electrical design function, manage external consultants and contractors, and drive continuous improvement and standardization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Master’s degree preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in data centres, mission-critical facilities, or similar environments.
• Strong leadership of Electrical design for large-scale data centre projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for Electrical and ELV systems for data center projects.
• Lead Electrical design strategy and governance across MV/LV distribution, transformers, generators, UPS, switchgear, and ELV systems.
• Review design deliverables to ensure compliance with company standards, codes, and international standards.
• Coordinate Electrical design consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality.

Job description

The purpose of the Director – Electrical role is to provide strategic and technical leadership for the planning, design, development, and delivery of all Electrical and ELV systems associated with data center projects. The role is accountable for establishing the Electrical design strategy and ensuring the delivery of reliable, resilient, scalable, energy-efficient, and operationally robust Electrical systems in accordance with project requirements, business objectives, company design standards, applicable international standards, local codes, and authority requirements. The Director – Electrical will provide technical direction throughout the complete project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover. The role will lead the Electrical design function, oversee external consultants and specialist contractors, manage technical risks and interfaces, and provide senior-level technical recommendations to project and executive management. The position will also drive continuous improvement, standardization, innovation, and optimization of Electrical systems across DAMAC Digital's data center portfolio.

Provide technical leadership for all Electrical and ELV engineering and design activities across data center projects, ensuring systems are reliable, resilient, scalable, energy-efficient, and aligned with project objectives.

• Lead Electrical design strategy and governance, including MV/LV distribution, transformers, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, ATS/STS, busway systems, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, small power, EPMS, and ELV systems.
• Review and oversee design deliverables including calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, equipment selections, studies, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with company standards, project requirements, applicable codes, and international standards.
• Manage and coordinate Electrical design consultants, contractors, and specialist vendors, ensuring timely delivery, technical quality, and compliance with approved scope, budget, and programme.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant professional experience, with significant experience in the design and delivery of data centres, mission-critical facilities, or other complex high-reliability environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading Electrical design for large-scale and complex data centre projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of critical electrical infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, transformers, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, ATS/STS, busway systems, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, small power, and EPMS.
