Job summary

Chalhoub Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Department Supervisor to support the Department Manager in daily operations and uphold luxury service standards on the shop floor. You will lead by example, coach team members, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction while maintaining product availability and department presentation.

The role requires proven luxury fashion retail leadership, strong product knowledge, and the ability to manage large teams with a hands-on, floor-focused management

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail leadership role within luxury fashion.
• Strong product knowledge across Women's Ready-to-Wear and/or Leather Goods.
• Demonstrated success in leading, coaching and developing sizeable retail teams.

What you'll be doing

The Department Supervisor supports the Department Manager in ensuring smooth execution of daily tasks and operational standards within the department.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operations of the department and ensure smooth execution of daily priorities.
• Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, supporting the team, serving customers, and leading by example.
• Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained and assist in resolving customer queries and routine complaints, escalating when required.
• Develop and maintain meaningful connections with VIP clients, actively build a client book, and support ongoing client engagement and retention.
• Monitor product availability, replenishment, stock handling, and department presentation to ensure standards are consistently met.
• Support the execution of visual merchandising guidelines and overall store standards within the department.
• Follow up on assigned tasks and ensure actions are completed accurately and on time.
• Support effective team scheduling by monitoring punctuality, attendance, and rota adherence.
• Coach and train team members on product knowledge, customer experience standards, cash handling, stock processes, and grooming requirements.
• Support checkout operations during peak trading periods and ensure a smooth customer experience at point of sale.
• Identify opportunities to improve the customer journey and share feedback and insights with the Department Manager and Floor Manager.
• Help reduce operational and POS errors through regular coaching, guidance, and follow-up with the team.
• Escalate people, customers, or operational concerns to the Department Manager when appropriate.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Proven experience in a retail leadership role within luxury fashion.
• Strong product knowledge and experience across Women's Ready-to-Wear and/or Leather Goods.
• Demonstrated success in leading, coaching and developing sizeable retail teams.
• A hands‑on, floor‑focused leadership style with the ability to motivate, influence and drive positive behavioral change.
• A genuine passion for luxury client experience, relationship building and service excellence.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Flexibility to work across retail shifts, including weekends.
