Job summary

Schneider Electric in the United Arab Emirates seeks a System Architect – Electrical to own end-to-end electrical architecture for datacenter solutions, from utility input through UPS, distribution, monitoring and rack-level power delivery. You will work with KAM, Solution Architect, and EPC teams to shape technical positioning and win deals.

The role requires 8–14 years in datacenter electrical design, experience with UPS topologies, grounding, BMS integration, and compliance with IEC/IEEE/NEC.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Electrical Engineering (BE/BTech preferred).
• Essential: 8–14 years in datacenter electrical design, commissioning, or presales; minimum 5 years in Data Center environments.
• Essential: Demonstrated design experience: UPS systems, distribution architecture, switchgear sizing, power redundancy (N, N+1, 2N).
• Essential: Experience producing SLDs, load calculations, cable schedules, equipment specifications.
• Essential: Ability to present and defend electrical designs to customer electrical engineering teams.
• Essential: Working knowledge of BMS/DCIM integration, SNMP/Modbus protocols, power monitoring systems.
• Essential: Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and Uptime Institute Tier electrical requirements.
• Preferred / Advantageous: Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) certification – electrical module.
• Preferred / Advantageous: Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent national electrical licensing.
• Preferred / Advantageous: Direct AI DC experience: GPU cluster power profiles, heterogeneous load management.
• Preferred / Advantageous: Background with hyperscalers (AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft) or Tier 1 consultants and Design Firms.
• Preferred / Advantageous: Presales or solutions engineering background.

Responsibilities

• Design complete electrical and power distribution systems for datacenter solutions: primary electrical infrastructure, UPS systems, distribution architecture, monitoring and control, grounding and bonding, energy modeling, compliance.
• Lead electrical-scope technical discussions with customers; defend design decisions at engineer-to-engineer level.
• Submit qualifying bid designs through Principal Architect review; address technical feedback and participate in win/loss debriefs.
