Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior data leader in Dubai to drive data-driven projects across public policy and economic domains. You will design, automate, and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows, applying AI and geospatial techniques to satellite imagery, trade, and macroeconomic data.

You will develop and maintain interactive dashboards, ranking systems, and predictive models, translating complex results into clear policy recommendations and delivering end-to-end data workflows.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Computer Science or Data Science.
• Proven experience leading data projects or small teams.
• 5+ years experience with Python.
• 5+ years experience with SQL.
• 5+ years experience with APIs.
• Experience with machine learning or predictive modelling.
• Experience building data pipelines or ETL processes.
• Experience with data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Nice-to-haves: Geospatial data (GIS, satellite imagery, GeoPandas, QGIS).
• Nice-to-haves: Economic or policy-related datasets.
• Nice-to-haves: Consulting or public sector projects.
• Nice-to-haves: Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Nice-to-haves: TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Nice-to-haves: Master’s degree in Data Science, Economics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead data-driven projects across public policy and economic domains.
• Design, automate, and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows.
• Apply AI, machine learning, and geospatial techniques to satellite imagery, trade, and macroeconomic data.
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, ranking systems, and predictive models.
• Translate technical results into clear, actionable policy recommendations.
• Mentor junior data scientists and oversee code quality, documentation, and best practices.
• Manage end-to‑end data workflows from ideation to delivery.
• Collaborate with data scientists, economists, and policy experts to build impactful tools.
