Job summary

Talent Seed in Dubai or Riyadh seeks an experienced Head of Data to lead its data organisation. This leader will be accountable for production databases, clusters, the reliability of the data platform, and BI services that deliver actionable insights.

You will manage teams, set strategy, partner with Engineering, Product, and Commercial leadership, own the data budget, and drive scalable, secure data infrastructure across high‑throughput systems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in data or infrastructure engineering, incl. 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Deep hands-on expertise in database architecture and operations, with MySQL and/or ClickHouse preferred.
• Proven reliability track record with high-availability data platforms, incident management, and DR.
• BI or analytics experience delivering products to external customers with scalable pipelines.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking with ability to mentor teams and set vision.
• Excellent communication, able to translate tech strategy to executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, architecture, and lifecycle management of production databases and clusters.
• Lead design, scaling, and operational excellence of database and analytics clusters.
• Define reliability standards across the data platform, including SLOs/SLIs and DR.
• Build, mentor, and lead managers and engineers; establish structure and career paths.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Commercial leadership on data investments.
• Own the data organisation budget, balancing performance, reliability, and cost.
