Data Modeler - Data Architecture in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is an IT and services opportunity for an experienced data modelling professional with strong knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data models, data architecture practices, Erwin, ER Studio, and enterprise data design standards. This role is suitable for a detail-oriented specialist who can translate business requirements into scalable data models, improve data structure, and support reliable data architecture across business and technology environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business needs and enterprise data architecture standards.
• Use data modelling tools such as Erwin, ER Studio, or equivalent platforms to create, maintain, and manage data models.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather, validate, and document data requirements across business and technology functions.
• Translate business processes, reporting needs, application requirements, and integration flows into structured data model designs.
• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, usability, maintainability, and long‑term enterprise growth.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, quality, and standardization throughout the data modelling lifecycle.
• Review existing data structures and recommend improvements to reduce redundancy, improve relationships, and support trusted data usage.
• Support data architecture initiatives by defining entities, attributes, relationships, keys, hierarchies, naming standards, and metadata.
• Work with database developers, data engineers, and application teams to support implementation of approved data models.
• Assist in mapping source‑to‑target data structures for migration, integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
• Provide guidance on data modelling best practices, modelling methodologies, documentation standards, and governance alignment.
• Maintain clear documentation including model diagrams, data dictionaries, entity definitions, relationship rules, and design decisions.
• Participate in model reviews, requirement workshops, impact assessments, and technical discussions with stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of data modelling standards, reusable design patterns, and architecture practices.

Ideal Profile

• Proven experience working as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, Database Designer, Data Analyst, or similar data-focused role.
• Hands‑on experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin, ER Studio, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling concepts and methodologies.
• Good knowledge of relational database design, normalization, denormalization, entity relationships, metadata, and data dictionaries.
• Ability to gather complex data requirements and convert them into clear, scalable, and practical data models.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Experience working with business users, data engineers, architects, developers, analysts, and governance teams.
• Ability to assess existing data structures and recommend improvements for quality, performance, and scalability.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain data model concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities, systems, and project requirements.
