Overview

The Data and Digital Manager leads and integrates company-wide digital solutions, data utilisation, electronics repair, and IoT development within Keolis MHI. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role ensures that business and engineering applications, digital tools, data outputs, and electronic systems effectively support operations, maintenance, asset performance, and informed decision-making across the organisation.

Responsibilities
Strategic
  • Define and implement strategies for company-wide digital solutions and data utilisation aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Ensure alignment between application development, digital tools, data outputs, electronics repair capabilities, and IoT initiatives.
  • Translate business and operational needs into structured digital and data use cases, guiding development priorities.
  • Support proof-of-concept initiatives related to digitalisation, data‑driven insights, and IoT solutions, ensuring controlled transition to operational use.
Financial
  • Manage budgets related to applications development, data platforms, electronics repair, and IoT activities, ensuring value for money and cost control.
  • Mitigate financial risks related to electronics obsolescence, proprietary software dependency, and unsupported hardware or applications.
  • Optimise costs through in‑house repair, alternative sourcing, reuse of electronics, and scalable digital solutions.
Stakeholder / Customer
  • Act as the primary engineering interface for, applications, electronics repair, and IoT matters with internal departments.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, system suppliers, and technology partners on application support, data interfaces, electronics repairs, and monitoring solutions.
  • Support regulatory bodies and clients on compliance matters related to electronic systems, data integrity, and digital tools used in maintenance and operations.
Operational
  • Oversee the electronics repair workshop, ensuring safe, timely, and traceable repair of electronic components and modules.
  • Manage the development, maintenance, and support of engineering and maintenance applications.
  • Govern data acquisition, storage, quality, and interpretation from operational systems and IoT devices.
  • Ensure standards for testing, validation, documentation, and configuration control of applications, electronics, and IoT solutions.
  • Monitor KPIs across data availability, application performance, repair turnaround time, repair success rate, and system reliability.
Dimensions
  • Leadership of multiple technical disciplines spanning software, data, electronics repair, and embedded/IoT systems.
  • Responsibility for systems that directly impact asset performance, maintenance effectiveness, and operational reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  1. Master’s degree in systems engineering, Embedded Systems, Data Engineering, Digital Engineering, or related field
Experience
  1. Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in electronics, digital systems, applications, or data engineering within an industrial or regulated environment
  2. Proven managerial experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams
  3. Demonstrated responsibility for electronics repair, application lifecycle management, data systems, or IoT‑based solutions.
  1. Experience within railway, transport, utilities, or other safety‑critical regulated industries
  2. Exposure to in‑house electronics repair workshops and obsolescence management
  3. Experience delivering condition monitoring, data‑driven maintenance, or engineering applications.
Skills / Training
  1. Strong understanding of data systems, engineering applications, embedded electronics, and IoT concepts
  2. Ability to manage system lifecycle, configuration control, and technical documentation
  3. Strong stakeholder management, planning, and decision‑making skills
  4. Fluent in English
  1. Knowledge of condition monitoring, data analytics, and remote diagnostics
