Job summary

A logistics company is seeking a Customs Clearance Logistics Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience in customs clearance within the Oil and Gas sector and holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Responsibilities include managing customs processes, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This is a 24-month contract aimed at experienced professionals fluent in English.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in logistics/customs clearance within Oil and gas sector.
  • EPCM Oil and gas companies experience is required.
  • Experience with ADNOC project is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the customs clearance process for imports/exports.
  • Handle duty exemption procedures for efficient clearance.
  • Coordinate with vendors and logistics providers for shipments.
  • Verify shipping and commercial documents for compliance.
  • Arrange inland transportation of materials to job sites.
  • Prepare documents for customs clearance and material receipt.
  • Maintain records related to customs and logistics activities.
  • Submit weekly customs clearance and logistics reports.

Job description

We are looking for a Customs Clearance Logistics Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Abu Dhabi - Office Based Role

Expected start date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 24 months - extendable based on project requirement - Contract Hire

Work Schedule: Working on site will be 9-hour shifts - 6 days per week

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • 7 years of experience in logistics/customs clearance within Oil and gas sector.
  • EPCM Oil and gas companies experience is a must.
  • Experience with ADNOC project is highly preferred.
  • Requiring maximum one month notice.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Fluent English communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the entire customs clearance process to ensure timely and compliant import/export operations.
  • Handle duty exemption procedures and ensure efficient clearance of materials from customs authorities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth collection and transportation of shipments.
  • Review, verify, and confirm all shipping and commercial documents with vendors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Arrange for inland transportation of materials from ports to allocated warehouses and further to job sites as per project requirements.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and available for customs clearance and material receipt.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records related to customs and logistics activities.
  • Prepare and submit weekly customs clearance and logistics reports to track progress and identify potential issues.
