Job summary

Salt is seeking a Risk Manager to lead risk governance for a CryptoSalt operation in Dubai. You will align with VARA rulebooks, Basel and ISO standards, and oversee risk across market, credit, liquidity, operations, cyber, and counterparty domains.

You will drive horizon scanning for regulatory changes, maintain live regulatory obligations, and collaborate with Compliance and the MLRO to ensure a unified risk/compliance framework.

Responsibilities

• Align with VARA Rulebooks and global best practice (ISO 31000, Basel principles, and FATF standards).
• Lead quarterly risk reviews and provide reporting to the CEO, Board, and Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
• Ensure integration between risk, compliance, audit, and business operations.
• Maintain internal Risk and Breach registers, regularly updated based on the identified risks.
• Oversee all major risk domains including market, credit, liquidity, operational, cyber, and counterparty risk.
• Monitor exposures related to OTC trading, exchange operations, custody, and treasury management.
• Design and manage a regulatory risk framework that identifies, assesses, and monitors all obligations under VARA, AML/CFT, and international crypto regulations.
• Conduct horizon scanning for regulatory changes across VARA, CBUAE, and global regimes (MiCA, FCA, MAS, etc.) to proactively manage emerging risks.
• Maintain a live regulatory obligations register, ensuring that all activities operate within licensed perimeters.
• Partner with Compliance and MLRO to create a unified second line of defense that integrates risk oversight with compliance execution.
• Review all new products, services, and marketing campaigns for regulatory perimeter and reputational risk.
