Position Overview First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is seeking an experienced Credit Limits Manager for an on-site role in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The position is responsible for managing credit limits related to credit facilities, overseeing limit encoding and control activities, and guiding team members through day-to-day credit administration transactions. The role requires strong control over approved credit terms, banking systems, operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and service standards across FAB Head Office, representative offices, and international branches.
Credit Limit Administration
- Authorize, process, and encode credit limits accurately in the bank 's systems according to approved credit terms.
- Maintain bank and country limits in accordance with relevant credit approvals.
- Ensure accurate application of interest rates, commissions, fees, and charges.
- Authorize, process, and maintain CCIB obligor details based on requests received from UAE and international branches and in accordance with applicable local regulations.
- Process day-to-day transactions including loan memos, processing tickets, PPC discounting and settlements, SVC, and related activities.
- Manage monthly activities, including annual reviews of credit limits in GLCMS.
- Process provisioning instructions, customer grade changes, suspension of interest, and relevant write-off entries.
- Prepare and authorize Liability and No Liability Certificates and Letters.
- Encode and process approved bank and country limits.
- Process uploads of interest-rate codes into relevant banking systems.
Loan and Facility Instructions
The role prepares and authorizes instruction memos to Loan Operations covering disbursements, repayment changes, settlements, facility maintenance, and collection of applicable fees. Responsibilities also include preparing instructions to the Client Service team for the release of excess margins held against facilities according to approved terms, as well as handling instructions relating to overdraft pricing linked to fixed deposits, loan instalment deferrals, changes in interest rates, and extensions of loan maturity dates.
Controls, Compliance and Risk
- Maintain compliance with approved Standard Operating Procedures, Service Level Agreements, Delegation of Authority, bank policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Keep current with relevant UAE Central Bank regulations, legal requirements, and Corporate Credit guidelines.
- Report Key Risk Indicators and operational loss incidents within required timelines.
- Maintain proactive communication with key stakeholders to support operational continuity and prevent process breaches.
- Work within FAB Group policies and established organisational and governance frameworks.
- Maintain strong controls with the objective of preventing unauthorized policy or regulatory breaches, high-risk errors, near misses, and income leakage.
- Maintain appropriate reconciliation, tracer, activity tracking, archiving, and other housekeeping controls.
- Support satisfactory internal, regulatory, risk, and external audit outcomes.
- Work with the Line Manager to strengthen tools and processes for identifying and managing business-as-usual risks within the unit.
Team Coordination and Service Delivery
- Support Team Leaders in distributing work among team members and maintaining the smooth flow of daily transactions.
- Monitor work-submission channels, including email and workflow management systems, to assist with task allocation and completion.
- Respond promptly to service requests, queries, escalations, and deficiency reports.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and address exceptions efficiently.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to staff.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and assist in monitoring team performance.
- Ensure team members receive adequate training.
- Maintain appropriate leave planning and backup coverage for the team.
- Use available manpower effectively to meet business requirements.
Operational Performance
The position is expected to maintain rigorous operational standards, including a target of zero high-risk errors, operational losses, near misses, income leakage events, and unauthorized policy or regulatory breaches. The unit targets at least 95% adherence to agreed turnaround-time standards and more than 90% satisfaction in internal customer surveys. The role also supports the objective of zero complaints and no critical findings in regulatory, external, or internal audits.
Continuous Improvement and Reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Develop process-improvement proposals and support implementation when approved by management.
- Assist with timely and accurate statements and management reports.
- Prepare reports requested by HO-CCU and Sanction, HO-CAD, and Senior Management.
- Undertake special projects and assignments requested by the Line Manager or relevant senior stakeholders.
- Maintain timely archiving of transactional documentation according to unit procedures.
- Support continuous improvement while considering applicable global standards, productivity objectives, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must hold a Bachelor 's degree or qualification in a related discipline. Relevant banking-sector experience is required, including at least 5 years in similar positions with progressively increasing managerial responsibilities within the credit facility function. The position requires the ability to operate within the approved authorization matrix while maintaining strong credit administration controls, regulatory compliance, operational discipline, team coordination, and service quality.
