Job description

The Credit Analyst is responsible for the assessment of individual and corporate lease applications, determining the applicant's affordability, creditworthiness and overall risk profile before a vehicle is committed. The role reviews and validates applicant documentation, analyzes income, obligations and credit history, applies the company credit policy and lending criteria, and produces a clear, evidence-based recommendation to the approving authority. Beyond origination, the role monitors portfolio quality and contributes to the ongoing refinement of credit policy, scoring criteria and fraud controls as G Prime Leasing builds its book.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Assessment & Underwriting
  • Review individual and corporate lease applications for completeness, accuracy and eligibility against the company credit policy and product criteria.
  • Validate applicant documentation including identification, residency and visa status, salary certificates, employment confirmation, bank statements, trade licenses, and audited or management financial statements for corporate applicants.
  • Obtain and interpret credit bureau reports, assessing repayment history, existing facilities, defaults, bounced payments and enquiry patterns.
  • Verify employer, income and contact details independently where required, and identify inconsistencies between declared and documented information.
Affordability & Risk Analysis
  • Calculate disposable income, debt burden and affordability headroom, taking into account existing obligations, dependants, housing costs and the proposed lease rental.
  • Assess the stability and sustainability of income, including employer standing, sector risk, length of service and contract or commission based earnings.
  • For corporate and fleet applicants, analyze liquidity, leverage, profitability and cash flow, assess group and related party exposure, and evaluate the strength of any guarantee offered.
  • Assess the asset and structure risk of each proposal, including vehicle type, tenor, mileage assumptions, down payment, residual value exposure and security arrangements.
Fraud Prevention, KYC & Compliance
  • Complete customer due diligence and know your customer checks, including identity verification, beneficial ownership for corporate applicants, and sanctions and adverse media screening.
  • Identify indicators of application fraud, document forgery, income inflation and identity misuse, and elevate suspicious cases through the correct channel without alerting the applicant.
  • Ensure that all applications are processed in line with company policy, applicable UAE anti-money laundering requirements, and data protection and confidentiality obligations.
  • Verify that insurance, registration and contractual requirements are satisfied as a condition of activation.
Credit Decisioning & Recommendation
  • Prepare clear, well-reasoned credit assessment notes setting out the applicant profile, key risks, mitigants and a recommended decision.
  • Approve or decline within delegated authority, and present borderline and higher value cases to the credit committee or approving authority with a supported recommendation.
  • Recommend risk-based structuring where appropriate, including revised tenor, increased down payment, additional security, guarantees or pricing adjustments.
  • Communicate decisions and conditions promptly to the sales team, and explain declines constructively so that expectations with the customer are managed professionally.
Portfolio Monitoring & Collections Support
  • Monitor portfolio performance including arrears, delinquency trends, early payment default and concentration by employer, sector, nationality band and vehicle segment.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of corporate and fleet exposures and flag deterioration in customer standing or repayment behavior.
  • Support the collections and recovery process with account analysis, restructuring assessments and repossession recommendations where required.
  • Track the performance of accounts against the original assessment to test the accuracy of underwriting judgement.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable credit files and system records for every application assessed, whether approved or declined.
  • Produce regular reporting on application volumes, approval and decline rates, turnaround times, and portfolio quality indicators.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of credit policy, scoring criteria, delegated authority levels and fraud controls based on observed portfolio behavior.
  • Balance risk control with commercial delivery, working closely with sales to convert acceptable business efficiently without compromising credit standards.
  • Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilize sound judgment in decision making.
  • Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.
