Job Purpose:

The position reports directly to the Senior Commercial Manager and the responsibilities of the role shall essentially be the close-out of the contractual claims of the previous main role is also responsible for assisting in providing hands-on Contract Management services to the Projects team and assists by providing specialist input for the day to day commercial and contractual administration while retaining specific responsibility for both the minimization/ evaluation of claims and/ or requests for Contract Variations and the commercial close-out of Contracts.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responding to Claims for extension of time and associated cost.
  • Preparing details to support the contentions of Employer and rebut contractors claims.
  • Review and translation of Court Orders Court Commercial Claims or the like from contractor and other parties.
  • Preparation of supporting documentation to augment Client legal responses to Court Orders Court Commercial Claims or the like from Contractor and other parties.
  • Liaison with Client legal representatives and legal counsel as required.
  • Compilation of records towards a reconciliation of the Final Account between Client and Contractor.
  • Preparation of Client claims with all supporting documentation for settlement of dues outstanding pursuant to the termination of contractor by Employer.
  • Reporting on all costs associated with close-out of Client vs contractor claims and dues preparation of settlement forms.
  • Liaison with contractor/Court-appointed Liquidator and following due legal process for closeout of amounts properly due.
  • Dealing with third party representatives of the Liquidator to address all commercial and legal matters
  • Informs themselves of the relevant Quality Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Policies Manuals and Procedures in place within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications Experience Knowledge and Skills:

  • 15 years of total experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in either Quantity Surveying Construction Law or equivalent.
  • Professional Membership of Law Society RICS or similar body.
  • Experience on projects of similar complexity.
  • Experience in dealing with Dubai/Abu Dhabi Court Procedures
  • Fluent in Arabic and English communication (Speaking and Correspondences).
  • The ability to mediate in a conflict situation.
  • A problem-solving approach seeking win-win solutions.
