Job summary

AL Marwan General Contracting Company in the UAE is seeking an experienced Contract Engineer to manage contractual and commercial activities for infrastructure and construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with FIDIC contracts (1999 Red Book), subcontract administration, claims, variations, EOT, and contract correspondence.

You will coordinate with project teams, review BOQs, and support final accounts and dispute resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant construction/contracts experience.
• 3–5+ years UAE/GCC experience, preferably in infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC, particularly the 1999 Red Book.
• Experience in subcontract administration, claims, variations, EOT, and contractual notices.
• Good understanding of BOQs, rates, payments, and final accounts.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Excellent contractual, commercial, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer main contracts in accordance with FIDIC and project requirements.
• Review contract documents, specifications, BOQs, and contractual conditions.
• Prepare and manage contractual notices, claims, variations, and EOT submissions.
• Draft and review contractual correspondence with Employers, Engineers, Consultants, and subcontractors.
• Prepare, review, and administer subcontract agreements and amendments.
• Monitor contractual obligations, risks, entitlements, and deadlines.
• Review subcontractor claims, variations, and commercial matters.
• Support final accounts, payment matters, and dispute resolution.
• Maintain contractual registers, records, and claims documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, QS, Planning, Procurement, and Technical teams.
