Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex vitreoretinal surgeries including pars plana vitrectomy, retinal detachment repair, and management of macular disorders
• Diagnose and treat diabetic retinopathy, age‑related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, macular holes, and other retinal pathologies
• Conduct advanced retinal procedures including laser photocoagulation, intravitreal injections, and vitreoretinal therapeutic interventions
• Utilize modern retinal imaging technologies such as OCT, FFA, ICG, and wide‑field imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Provide comprehensive pre‑operative assessments and post‑operative follow‑up care for retina patients
• Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, retina specialists, and multidisciplinary medical teams for integrated patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital standards and specialist regulatory requirements
• Contribute to clinical governance, departmental quality improvement, and evidence‑based patient safety initiatives
• Support teaching, mentoring, and training of junior doctors and ophthalmic staff
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in vitreoretinal surgery and modern retina treatment protocols

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree with recognized specialization in Ophthalmology
• Tier1 medical qualifications such as American Board Certification, UK CCT, Canadian Fellowship, or Australian and New Zealand Fellowship are mandatory
• Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery from a recognized institution is required
• Strong expertise in both medical retina and complex vitreoretinal surgical procedures
• Demonstrated excellence in surgical outcomes and advanced clinical decision‑making
• Eligibility for or active DOH specialist licensing is required
