Job description

The Senior Consultant is responsible for maintaining overall knowledge of products and services offered by ABS and supporting internal and external clients.

What You Will Do:
  • Consults with clients on system implementation according to their needs to determine data and training requirements and assists in constructing the time schedules for project plans.
  • Confers with clients and determines and itemizes needs of their business processes that require system adaptation.
  • Constructs specifications on modifications that can be incorporated as additional functionality into the system.
  • Acts as liaison between clients, account management, and product development.
  • Manages consulting projects and ensures their completion according to time schedules and budgets.
  • Performs training of clients’ personnel in all specific areas of the software functionality.
  • Performs product system installations in client offices and vessels.
  • Assists product support group with technical issues via telephone or on-site to resolve clients’ questions on performing specific tasks.
  • Leads and assists in the internal training of ABS employees.
  • Participates in the final phases of new system functionality testing to ensure correctness and compliance with client’s requirements.
  • Maintains and updates projects in the project management system.
  • Performs process mapping of client business processes and develops, recommends, and implements process changes.
  • Liaison with ABS on data transfer between ABS applications.
  • Provides additional training, guidance, and leadership to non-Senior Consultants.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in work experience and training.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with wide area networking and telecommunications.
  • Experience in the marine or offshore industry.
  • An expert in at least one of the areas covered by the software, i.e., maintenance, purchasing, installations, etc.
  • Ability to learn the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
Reporting Relationships:

Reports to a manager, director, or executive-level position and does not have any direct reports.
