Role Context

The Consultant Robotic Urologist will provide advanced surgical and medical management for patients with complex urological conditions requiring minimally invasive or robotic-assisted intervention. The role combines specialist consultation, operative planning, robotic surgery, laparoscopic techniques, oncology management, reconstructive care, postoperative follow-up, and multidisciplinary decision-making. Particular emphasis will be placed on achieving precise surgical outcomes while reducing recovery time, complications, and patient discomfort. The successful physician will work within a modern surgical environment equipped with advanced robotic technology and collaborate with oncology, radiology, anesthesia, pathology, nursing, and other specialist teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of benign and complex urological disorders.
• Perform robotic-assisted urological procedures using advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques.
• Conduct laparoscopic urological surgery where clinically appropriate.
• Manage urological oncology cases requiring surgical intervention.
• Provide reconstructive urological procedures according to patient condition and surgical indication.
• Evaluate patients with complex urinary tract, prostate, renal, bladder, and related urological conditions.
• Develop individualized surgical and non-surgical treatment plans based on diagnosis, imaging, pathology, and patient needs.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and determine suitability for robotic or laparoscopic intervention.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient urology consultations.
• Monitor postoperative recovery and manage complications, pain control, wound care, and follow-up requirements.
• Coordinate treatment with oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation covering consultations, investigations, procedures, operative findings, and follow-up.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and complex case discussions.
• Contribute to clinical governance, surgical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.
• Support education, training, and continuous professional development within the urology service.
• Remain current with developments in robotic surgery, laparoscopic techniques, urological oncology, and advanced surgical technology.

Ideal Profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
• Western Board Certification, CCT, Fellowship, or equivalent qualification from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or Western Europe.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Robotic Urology.
• Strong expertise in robotic-assisted and laparoscopic urological surgery.
• Experience managing complex urological oncology, reconstructive, and benign urology cases.
• Eligibility for DHA Consultant or Specialist licensure in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
• Candidates must not have previous GCC work experience.
• Strong surgical judgment and decision-making ability.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a modern, high-performance surgical environment.
