SEHA - Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. seeks a Consultant Physician to lead the delivery of evidence-based care, diagnose, manage and treat patients, and provide clinical leadership within the department.
You will model clinical excellence and supervise junior medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role involves supervising junior medical staff, participating in on-call coverage, lead ward rounds, and drive quality and safety initiatives while ensuring adherence to hospital policies
The Consultant Physician is responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of high quality evidence-based care; effectively and efficiently diagnosing, managing and treating all patients placed under the post holder’s care. The Consultant Physician is expected to be an example of clinical excellence within his or her specialty and to provide leadership and training for junior medical staff.
Managerial/AdministrationSupports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures
Helps lead and implement the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
Participates in the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times
Attends Divisional meetings as required
Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief
Technical
Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty. The Consultant Physician’s clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:
Quality & SafetyHelps lead quality improvement within the Department
Supports a culture of regular audit and encourages the use of audit results for improving clinical practice
Supports the reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents

Required:
a. Tier 1: NLT 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post board certification.
b. Tier 2: NLT 8 years full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post board certification (includes years in fellowship training) in internationally accredited institute.

Clinical Fellowship training following primary specialty board may substitute for experience as follows:
Each year of clinical fellowship is counted as two years of clinical
experience
Only applicable to clinical subspecialty fellowship in the following
countries (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, USA) or HAAD accredited
fellowship programs.
