Job summary

SEHA is recruiting a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon with urology experience for SKMC in Abu Dhabi. The role entails advanced surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents, including neonatal and pediatric tumors, with emphasis on evidence-based interventions and family-centered care.

The position requires completion of General Surgery residency, fellowship in Pediatric Surgery, and board certification, with DOH consultant license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized medical school.
• Residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Pediatric Surgery from a recognized program.
• Board Certification in Pediatric Surgery (e.g., American Board, CCT with Pediatric Surgery subspecialty, FRCS-Ped, or equivalent).
• Valid DOH Consultant License in Pediatric Surgery or eligibility to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and surgically manage pediatric conditions, including neonatal anomalies and urologic/pathology.
• Perform elective and emergency pediatric surgeries, including minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care with safe recovery and follow-up.
• Offer surgical consultation to pediatricians, neonatologists, and other specialists.
• Participate in NICU/PICU and ED multidisciplinary planning.
• Mentor residents and junior staff; contribute to continuous professional development.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement projects, and morbidity/mortality reviews.
