Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for pediatric patients with acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions.
• Manage respiratory distress, seizures, dehydration, infections, allergic reactions, and other acute pediatric presentations.
• Provide emergency care for critically ill pediatric patients requiring resuscitation and stabilization.
• Lead pediatric resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management, vascular access, and life-saving interventions.
• Perform emergency procedures including lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair, and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate patient care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Support safe and efficient patient flow within the Pediatric Emergency Department.

Leadership and Departmental Development

• Contribute to the strategic development of pediatric emergency services.
• Develop and update clinical pathways, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, clinical audits, and governance activities.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.

Family and Patient Engagement

• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions clearly and compassionately to patients ' families.
