Allocation Assist is recruiting a Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist for a leading Abu Dhabi hospital’s Pediatric Cardiac ICU. You will manage neonates, infants, and children with congenital and acquired heart diseases, including post-surgical and interventional cases.

The role demands 8–10 years of post-specialization experience, DOH Abu Dhabi licensure eligibility, and strong leadership with English fluency. UAE benefits and competitive tax-free compensation are provided.

Job description

Position Overview

A leading tertiary-care hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join its Pediatric Cardiac ICU team. The successful candidate will provide advanced critical care management for neonates, infants, and children with congenital and acquired heart diseases, including pre- and post-operative cardiac surgical patients and complex interventional cardiology cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in the PCICU.
• Provide pre-operative stabilization and post-operative care following congenital heart surgery.
• Manage ECMO, mechanical ventilation, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiac emergencies.
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and specialized nursing teams.
• Interpret complex diagnostic data including echocardiography and hemodynamic studies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and departmental growth.
• Mentor junior physicians and participate in teaching, research, and CME activities.
• Communicate effectively with families and provide compassionate, family-centered care.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care is required.
• Minimum 8-10 years of post-specialization experience in a high-volume pediatric cardiac center.
• Expertise in congenital heart disease, ECMO, and post-operative pediatric cardiac ICU care.
• Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licensure is mandatory.
• Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
