Job summary

Client of Dr Expat is seeking a Consultant in Critical Care Medicine to lead the management of critically ill adult patients in the ICU, delivering expert clinical decision-making within a UAE healthcare environment.

The role emphasises multidisciplinary collaboration, supervision of junior staff, and adherence to international critical care standards. DoH licensure eligibility is required for this post.

Qualifications

• Board certification in critical care medicine (Western Board, CCT, CESR, American Board, or equivalent).
• 3–5 years post-board consultant experience.
• Eligibility for DOH consultant licensure.

Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill adult patients in the ICU.
• Lead assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for complex conditions.
• Provide advanced life support and critical care interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Supervise and support junior medical staff where appropriate.
• Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation following UAE regulations.
• Ensure evidence-based practices and international standards of critical care.
• Support patient safety and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Role Overview Consultant Critical Care Medicine

As a Consultant in Critical Care Medicine you will lead the management of critically ill adult patients within the intensive care unit provide expert clinical decision-making and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based critical care. Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit ICU
• Lead assessment diagnosis and treatment planning for complex medical conditions
• Provide advanced life support and critical care interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Supervise and support junior medical staff where appropriate
• Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations

Qualifications & Experience

• Western Board, CCT, CESR, American Board, or equivalent Tier 1 qualification in Critical Care Medicine
• Minimum 3 5 years of post-board Consultant experience
• Experience in adult ICU management and multidisciplinary critical care
• Eligibility for DOH Consultant Licensure
• Experience in tertiary or academic medical centres preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
