Job summary

A prestigious tertiary-care hospital in Dubai, UAE, is expanding its Cardiothoracic Surgery Program and seeks a Consultant/Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join its elite team. The role covers outpatient consultations, elective and emergency surgeries, and inpatient critical care coordination.

The candidate will perform complex cardiac and thoracic procedures using advanced hybrid theatres, with imaging and critical care support to deliver world-class outcomes.

Qualifications

• Recognised specialist qualifications such as the boards listed (e.g., American Board of Thoracic Surgery, FRCS).
• DOH / DHA / MOH licensing eligibility guidance will be provided where applicable.
• Minimum 3+ years post specialist or board certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and complex cardiac surgeries.
• Conduce thoracic surgical procedures, including lung resections and mediastinal surgeries.
• Utilise minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques where appropriate.
• Manage pre-operative evaluation and surgical planning for cardiac and thoracic patients.
• Provide post-operative care and monitoring, including ICU coordination.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, and intensivists for patient management.
• Participate in heart team discussions and multidisciplinary reviews.
• Manage cardiothoracic surgical emergencies and acute cardiac conditions.
• Interpret advanced diagnostic imaging, including echocardiography, CT, and cardiac catheterisation data.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, surgical safety, and governance policies.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and surgical records.
