The ideal candidate holds MBBS or equivalent, a recognised specialist qualification in Anesthesiology with cardiac training, Western board certification, and UAE licensing eligibility.

• Recognised specialist qualification in Anesthesiology, with additional training or certification in cardiac anesthesia.
• Western board certification (e.g., ABAnesthesiology or equivalent).
• Substantial specialist-level experience in cardiac anesthesia and complex cardiovascular surgeries.
• Expertise in advanced hemodynamic monitoring and perioperative cardiovascular management.
• Experience in TEE and cardiac intensive care is highly desirable.
• Eligibility for Consultant Anesthesiologist licensing in the UAE.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for complex cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and major cardiovascular surgeries.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and evaluate cardiovascular risks.
• Develop individualized anesthesia plans for cardiac surgery patients.
• Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring and intraoperative assessments (TEE).
• Manage intraoperative instability and critical events during cardiac procedures.
• Coordinate with surgeons, perfusionists, intensivists, and teams for safe patient care.
• Oversee postoperative stabilization and transfer to the cardiac ICU.
• Manage high-risk cases and comorbidities in cardiovascular surgery.

SearchPlus HR is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join a leading hospital in the UAE. This opportunity is suitable for internationally trained specialists with recognised Western board certification and extensive experience in cardiac anesthesia and perioperative cardiovascular care.

The successful candidate will provide specialised anesthesia services for adult and, where applicable, paediatric cardiac surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout the perioperative period.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for complex cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement, and other major cardiovascular surgeries.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and evaluate patients’ cardiovascular status and anesthesia-related risks.
• Develop and implement individualised anesthesia plans for patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
• Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and other relevant intraoperative assessments within the scope of training and privileges.
• Manage intraoperative hemodynamic instability and other critical events during cardiac procedures.
• Provide perioperative care for patients undergoing major cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, where applicable.
• Coordinate with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Oversee postoperative stabilization and coordinate transfer to the cardiac intensive care unit.
• Manage complex cases involving significant cardiovascular comorbidities and high-risk surgical patients.
• Participate in emergency cardiac procedures and provide anesthesia support when required.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to clinical governance, patient-safety, and infection-control standards.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Recognised specialist qualification in Anesthesiology, with additional training or certification in cardiac anesthesia.
• Western board certification, such as American Board Certification in Anesthesiology or an equivalent recognised UK, Canadian, Australian, or other Western specialist qualification.
• Substantial specialist-level experience in cardiac anesthesia and the management of complex cardiovascular surgical cases.
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced hemodynamic monitoring and perioperative cardiovascular management.
• Experience in TEE and cardiac intensive care is highly desirable.
• Excellent clinical judgement, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Eligibility for Consultant Anesthesiologist licensing in the UAE, subject to the relevant health authoritys requirements.
