Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments to evaluate patients' medical histories and anesthetic risks ensuring tailored anesthetic plans
• Administer various types of anesthesia: general, regional, sedation during surgical procedures maintaining patient safety throughout
• Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia depth continuously during surgery, adjusting anesthetic levels as necessary for optimal outcomes
• Provide postoperative care, assessing patients' recovery from anesthesia and managing pain relief protocols effectively
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive perioperative care strategies
• Educate patients and their families about anesthesia procedures and potential risks fostering informed consent and trust
• Participate in continuous professional development and training, staying current with advancements in anesthesia techniques and technologies
• Conduct research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance anesthesia practices and patient safety measures
• Manage emergency situations, demonstrating leadership and swift decision-making to ensure patient stability
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting anesthesia care and patient responses throughout the perioperative period

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent degree with specialization in Anesthesiology from an accredited institution
• Certification from a recognized anesthesia board, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge in anesthetic practices
• A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in anesthesiology within a hospital or surgical center setting
• Experience in a variety of surgical specialties, including but not limited to orthopedic, cardiovascular, and neurosurgery
