Job summary

Astra ProMed in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly qualified Consultant Anaesthesiologist to join our leading healthcare facility. You will provide comprehensive anaesthesia services across a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures, prioritizing patient safety and high-quality care.

Responsibilities include pre-operative assessments, airway management, monitoring, pain control, emergency response, and collaboration with surgical teams.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Anaesthesiology (MD, DNB, Arab Board, FRCA, FANZCA, American Board, or equivalent).
• Eligibility for Consultant registration with the relevant UAE health authority (DOH/DHA/MOH) or a valid UAE Consultant license.
• Fellowship or board certification from a recognized international body is preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative patient assessments and formulate individualized anaesthesia plans.
• Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia for surgical and diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after anaesthesia, ensuring optimal recovery.
• Manage acute and chronic pain using evidence-based techniques.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including airway management and resuscitation.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, intensivists, and nursing teams to deliver multidisciplinary patient care.
• Supervise junior physicians, residents, and allied healthcare professionals where applicable.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, audits, and continuing medical education.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and international clinical standards
