Job summary

Client of Careers International seeks an experienced Material Engineer to manage material approvals, review specifications, and coordinate with suppliers and project teams on construction and interior fit-out projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction/materials, detail orientation, and collaboration with consultants, contractors and site teams to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years of material engineering/material management experience in construction or interior fit-out.
• Experience dealing with consultants, suppliers, manufacturers, and site teams; knowledge of quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs and material requirements.
• Identify and recommend suitable materials for construction and fit-out projects.
• Prepare and submit Material Submittals (MS) for consultant/client approval.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain technical data sheets, samples, certificates and docs.
• Ensure materials meet project specs and approved standards; maintain records.
• Inspect delivered materials and verify against samples and specs.
• Maintain material registers and approval logs; assist with technical queries.
