The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in major infrastructure projects, preferably in High-Speed Rail. Key responsibilities include managing construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating with various teams. Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience in major infrastructure or rail projects, preferably in High-Speed Rail.
  • Experience in the UAE or Middle East is preferred.
  • Background in PMC / Owner’s Engineer / Contractor roles is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee mainline construction activities, including earthworks and structures.
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards.
  • Coordinate with teams to resolve technical and site issues.
  • Review and approve construction documents and reports.
  • Support inspection, testing, and commissioning of mainline works.

Skills

The Role

Surbana Jurong (SJ) is seeking Construction Manager – Mainline for an upcoming high-speed rail project in the UAE, currently under Expression of Interest (EOI).

The role involves managing station construction activities and ensuring that quality, safety, schedule, and cost objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee mainline construction activities, including earthworks, structures, track formation, and associated works.
  • Monitor contractor performance, progress, and compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards.
  • Coordinate with design, interface, and project teams to resolve technical and site issues.
  • Review and approve construction documents, drawings, and reports.
  • Support inspection, testing, and commissioning of mainline works.
Key Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • 15+ years’ experience in major infrastructure or rail projects, preferably in High-Speed Rail (HSR).
  • Experience in the UAE or Middle East is preferred.
  • Background in PMC / Owner’s Engineer / Contractor roles within large transportation projects is an advantage.
Key Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills with a focus on mainline delivery.
  • Excellent understanding of civil, track, and structural construction processes.
