Job summary

Hill International (Middle East) Limited in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Construction Manager to lead infrastructure delivery, manage contractors and specialists, and supervise construction activities to ensure timely handover. You will coordinate with authorities, monitor progress, and drive adherence to project specifications.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 10+ years in infrastructure, PMC experience, and familiarity with inspections, approvals and QA/QC; professional certifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• Minimum 10 years in infrastructure construction with 5+ years in Abu Dhabi.
• Proven PMC experience and track record as Construction Manager on large infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical background in infrastructure projects and at least 2 full lifecycle project experiences.
• Experience with inspections, mockups, prototypes and quality benchmarking.
• Familiar with local authority requirements and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Infrastructure works throughout the construction process.
• Review Contractor's construction programme, look-ahead schedules, resources and recovery measures.
• Verify construction readiness with drawings, method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, materials and permits.
• Monitor performance of Supervision Consultant and Contractor.
• Assist in tasks from design through to execution and handover phases.
• Verify progress reports for Infrastructure activities.
• Monitor submittal and RFI review and responses.
• Identify improvements in sequencing and progress among all parties.
• Monitor inspection processes and QA/QC improvements.
• Coordinate with local authorities and ensure compliance with policies.

Job Description

Construction Manager - Infrastructure to lead the effort to manage and control the delivery of the infrastructure activities of the Contractor and Specialist Subcontractors throughout the construction phase of the project and monitor the performance of the Construction supervision Consultant with regard to inspection and sign off of the works completed by Contractor and interfere where issues arise to ensure a suitable conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Infrastructure works throughout the construction process.
• Review and monitor the Contractor's construction programme, look-ahead schedules, resources, productivity, work sequencing and recovery measures against contractual milestones.
• Verify construction readiness, including approved drawings, method statements, risk assessments, inspection and test plans, materials, permits, NOCs and availability of work fronts.
• Monitor the performance of the Supervision Consultant and Contractor.
• Assist in tasks related to Infrastructure from design stage through to execution and handover phases.
• Verify the reported progress in the various status reports with regard to Infrastructure activities.
• Monitor the technical submittal and approval process.
• Identify improvements that can be achieved with regard to sequencing and progress on the project by all parties during construction.
• Monitor Inspection process and identify improvements where possible.
• Monitor QHSE performance and identify and address deviations of performance.
• Coordinate and manage the relationship with the local authorities.
• Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures in place within Hill International, and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree mandatory in Civil engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Construction of Infrastructure projects, with extensive experience in dealing with local authorities in Abu Dhabi (minimum 5 years)
• Have a proven PMC experience and track record as a Construction Manager on any related projects with large Infrastructure scopes.
• Required to have a strong technical background in Infrastructure projects and should have at least 2 full life cycle project experience working on a Project Management team.
• Management of Inspections, Mockups, Prototypes, samples, and quality benchmarking.
• Progressive verification of the works to Contract specifications, Drawings, and approved mock-ups.
• Management of construction submittal and RFI review and responses process.
• Review Main Contractors reports (daily / weekly/ monthly), technical and Progress.
• Review contractor's method of construction.
• Familiar will local authority's requirements and procedures.
• PMP, CIOB, ICE, APM or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
