Job summary

A leading oil and gas company in the UAE is seeking a Construction Engineer with at least 10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will oversee construction activities, manage multidiscipline teams, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience as construction engineer in oil & gas industry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently and in line with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Supervise contractors and sub-contractors to ensure proper construction methods and quality of workmanship.
  • Coordinate multi discipline works (civil, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation).
  • Ensure that construction schedules are met and highlight any delays or issues at early stage.
  • Review construction drawings, isometrics, specifications, method statements & risk assessments before implementation.
  • Resolve field issues in coordination with engineering and operation teams.
  • Ensure that any site modifications are properly approved.
  • Ensure that all works meets project quality requirements.
  • Verify material traceability, welding procedures, hydrotesting and inspections as per approved ITPs.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspection requests, punch list clearance and documentation reviews/approval.
  • Review and endorse construction dossiers.
  • Track construction progress against schedules and report deviations.
  • Identify and report any delays, resource shortages or technical bottlenecks.
  • Participate in Joint walkthroughs and prepare punch list.
  • Ensure all construction activities are completed and documented before handover to commissioning team.
  • Support pre-commissioning and mechanical completion activities.

Skills

Job Scope
  1. Coordinating the construction works performed by main contractors at various project sites in SNOC i.e. Sajaa plant, LPG Terminal, Condensate Terminal, wellhead facilities and pipelines/flowlines in all fields.
  2. To ensure that construction works in SNOC are executed safely, on time, within budget and according to the approved design, quality and HSE standards.
