Dubai American Academy (DAA), GEMS Education's flagship American curriculum school in the UAE, invites expressions of interest for High School Computer Science Teachers to join from August 2027. The school delivers PreK–12 with IB Diploma Programme and has an Outstanding KHDA rating for 13+ years.

Successful candidates will teach CS within American or IB frameworks, foster inquiry-based learning, and contribute to a vibrant international community.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor of Education or equivalent with a Computer Science specialization.
• Proven high school CS teaching experience, preferably American or IB school.
• Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and practical CS instruction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; build relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and outstanding teaching.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, interactive CS lessons to high school students following the school curriculum.
• Develop creative teaching strategies to foster curiosity and critical thinking.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive learning environment.

Position Overview

We are welcoming expressions of interest from outstanding High School Computer Science Teachers interested in joining Dubai American Academy from August 2027.

We are particularly keen to hear from experienced American curriculum and/or IB educators who are passionate about academic excellence and inspiring confident, curious learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive Computer Science lessons to high school students, following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement creative and effective teaching strategies to inspire a love for Computer Science and foster critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Ensure continuity in the delivery of curriculum content.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment opportunities and professional learning.

Successful Candidate

• Hold a Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree together with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, State License, or equivalent specialising in Computer Science.
• Have proven experience teaching Computer Science at High School level, ideally within an American or IB curriculum school.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and practical Computer Science instruction.
• Be an excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Show a commitment to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students.
