Job summary

Ajman University invites applications for a Laboratory Technologist in the College of Architecture, Art and Design. The role oversees the computational design lab and digital fabrication lab, assists students and faculty, and manages software installations and lab operations.

The successful candidate will lead training sessions, support research in digital modeling and simulation, and stay current with advances in design tools and fabrication techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computational Design, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, and 3ds Max.
• Experience in 3D printing, lab management, software installation, and IT support within an academic or professional environment.
• Prior experience in conducting workshops, training sessions, or teaching in computational design software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to software and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and faculty in utilizing computational design software and digital fabrication tools.
• Ensure proper lab functioning; update software and troubleshoot.
• Install and manage software for computational design applications with licensing compliance.
• Support faculty with software needs and integrate tools into coursework.
• Develop and conduct training sessions and workshops for students and faculty.
