Job summary

Pennell Hart has been engaged by a Dubai-based commodities trading group to recruit a Compliance Officer who will own the operational compliance framework for counterparties and subsidiaries. This hands-on role focuses on KYC/KYB, sanctions screening and risk-based due-diligence across the network.

The successful candidate will lead enhanced due diligence, coordinate requests from banks and investors, and report to the Group Head of Compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' relevant compliance/counterparty due-diligence/sanctions-screening experience.
• Strong corporate KYC/KYB and ownership-structure analysis skills.
• Familiarity with sanctions/vessel-screening platforms (e.g. Compliance monitoring systems, Orbis or equivalent).
• Arabic language capability preferred; experience supporting operations across Africa a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end corporate KYC/KYB and onboarding of customers, suppliers, agents and trading counterparties.
• Own sanctions, PEP, adverse-media and vessel screening through the Group's monitoring system.
• Lead enhanced due diligence on high-risk counterparties and coordinate inbound DD requests from banks, lenders, investors and partners.
• Prepare lender and investor compliance packs for financing and stake-acquisition transactions.
• Oversee compliance execution across subsidiaries and manage a network of Compliance Champions.
• Report to the Compliance Manager & Group Head of Compliance.

Our client is a Dubai based, leading commodities trading group who are seeking a Compliance Officer to own its operational compliance framework for counterparties and subsidiaries. This is a hands-on counterparty-risk role and would not suit a purely banking, AML/MLRO, or investigations specialist.

• Own sanctions, PEP, adverse-media and vessel screening (IMO-based checks) through the Group's monitoring system
• Lead enhanced due diligence on high-risk counterparties and coordinate inbound DD requests from banks, lenders, investors and partners
• Prepare lender and investor compliance packs for financing and stake-acquisition transactions
• Oversee compliance execution across subsidiaries and manage a network of Compliance Champions
• Report to the Compliance Manager & Group Head of Compliance

What they're looking for:
