Job summary

About the Role

Protego is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Manager to lead our regulatory compliance efforts within the UAE insurance sector. This pivotal role ensures our operations align with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and play a key role in shaping a culture of integrity and compliance across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Compliance Manager, you will:

  • Advise senior management on UAE regulatory implications and strategic compliance matters
  • Oversee regulatory submissions, filings, and notifications to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor compliance performance across business units and assess key risks
  • Lead audits, inspections, and correspondence with regulatory bodies
  • Develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and controls
  • Conduct compliance reviews, quality assurance, and maintain documentation
  • Coordinate training programs and ensure up-to-date dissemination of compliance practices
  • Provide advisory support on product approvals and process changes
  • Drive a culture of ethics and regulatory awareness across the organization

What We’re Looking For

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or Audit
  • 3–5 years of experience in compliance within a financial institution, preferably insurance
  • Strong understanding of UAE insurance regulations, AML/CFT, and sanctions risks
  • Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as the Central Bank of the UAE, DHA, and DOH
  • Exceptional analytical, reasoning, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to navigate complex operational environments and coach teams
  • Arabic language proficiency is a plus
